TRAIL COMMITTEE MEMBERS NEEDED ... Click Here to Read

Silver Creek Sno-Odders Minutes from February 2010

Call to order at 7:10 pm by Howard

Roll Call: 16 members present

Minutes were read from last month and approved with the exception that the minutes from last month should reflect that the club wants Joe to groom at least once per week when the trails are open. Tami needs to check the minutes and change them if needed. (Note: Minutes do say “Motion made & 2nd to have the groomer out once per week while the trails are open”.

Treasurer Kathy reported that checking beginning balance was $495.96 and checks were written to:

AWSC dues 10.00, Players safety class food 60.50, Graphic signs 25.20, Boss signs 120.37, Deposit Tami 50/50 raffle 210.00, Thrift store 85.00 donation from raffle, united way 85.00 from raffle, Chris Lemke 40.00 from raffle, Dean 40.00 for trail maps, 50.00 Riley’s for chili, Robbins family 50.00 for a used gate, 10.00 for reporting, 22.00 postage to Tami, 130.00 to DNR, 3120.00 to Joe for grooming. Kathy transferred to checking from savings 3500.00 for an end balance of $399.06.

County news:  Youth ride was today sponsored by Crooked Trails 6 adults and 6 children present with Duane, Mason and Dean and Kathy Luker representing our club. Free pizza followed the ride and all had a good time. Wish more people could attend.

There was good feedback from attendees on our county ride. Some said that it was the best run function that they had ever attended. Thank You to the people and businesses that donated time and resources to make it a success. A suggestion was made for our club to be available to help any clubs in planning a ride for the future. Another suggestion was made that we sell our services as a club for ride and stay packages. We could advertise to out of state and residents of other counties and possibly have another source of income for our club. Some concerns were addressed about the cancelling of the county ride and then putting it back on last minute with no notice. The order of events were explained  and the main reason for the cancellation was that members were worried that we would get stuck paying for food etc. if nobody showed up. After some discussion it was suggested that in the future we sell tickets in advance then all cost would be covered.

Craig at Players wants pictures from the club ride to display at his establishment. Dean will distribute pictures and thank you cards to the businesses involved.

Vintage ride will proceed, but a date has not been set. It will probably be a last minute event and phone calls will be made by Pat to interested club members as to the date and itinerary. It will be a short ride with few stops involving a lot of tools and spare parts.

The club decided not to have a winter brat fry this season and we will concentrate our efforts on the summer brat fry to make that one bigger and better.

Our mission statement will be discussed at a directors meeting in the near future with a date not set yet.

Lindy talked to DNR about the hill and creek crossing in Eldorado. Some changes will be made and Lindy will implement them this riding season.

Signs and posts need to be ordered by one person in the future. There was some concern that things were getting ordered by too many people and we were not all on the same page. Having a trail boss and assigning this duty to that position may help this problem.

Tom will check on rebar prices as will Lindy and Howard and they will report their findings at the next meeting.

New Business- Convention coming up, Senate and Assembly coming up about CAAP STEP, Tami needs to send a Thank You note to Modern Pole and Leo for the free replacement of our storage shed roof. Also Kathy needs to give a donation receipt to MPB for the amount. Leo is going to start making snowmobile bridges so if we need one we now have a local source.

Steve Stollfuss won the jacket and Dave Sina missed out on the bankroll of 76.00. Congrats and too bad

Meeting adjourned at 8:20
