Silver Creek Sno-Odders Minutes
from January 14, 2012

Call to order at 7:15 pm by Howard

Minutes were read from last month and approved.

FDL Cty News:Supplemental checks were finally mailed out to clubs.

We are hosting the February meeting which will be held at Alibi’s on February 14th.  Grooming meeting begins at 7:00 pm and regular meeting begins at 7:30 pm – it would be nice to see a lot of members in attendance at this meeting.

The county ride is scheduled for Jan. 21st with an alternate date of Feb. 25th if there is no snow.  The ride will begin at 10:00 am at Party Palace.

AWSC News: Randy said the CAP/STEP program is well under way and there is a bus trip planned for Feb. 15th to Madison leaving from Menards in Fond du Lac.  Contact Ray Sippel for more information.

Randy said there was discussion of an Assembly Bill 439 which would have a person’s driver’s license affected by intoxicated use of an ATV, snowmobile or boat.  They are hoping nothing comes of this.

The annual AWSC convention will be held the end of March in Manitowoc this year.  Doug Sesler is running against incumbent Doug Johnson for president, all other positions are unopposed.

Old Business:            Safety Class
Howard stated the safety class finished up on Thursday the 5th, they did the final exam that night vs. the normal Saturday at Player’s due to no snow.  There were only 7 kids in attendance this year.

Poker Run
The committee met before the meeting tonight and will meet one more time before the poker run on the 28th.  A press release will go in the paper next week.  The drawing will be held at Player’s at 5:30 and the top 5 poker hands will receive the bigger prizes.  There will also be a silent auction and many other door prizes.

Bent will play at the benefit for $300, of which the club will pay $100 and Craig from Player’s will pay the remaining $200.

There will be 4 tables set up in the back room at Player’s for people to draw their poker hands.  Howard asked for volunteers from the club to man these tables.  Tom & Paula, Denny & Dana, Jeff Bloch, and Lindy will be in charge of the tables.

A huge thank you to Gary Will for all his hard work and time he has put into getting the numerous donations for this benefit.  Gary has asked that we all remember the generous businesses in our community that have donated and be sure to thank them.

Outdoor Club
No snow for the Outdoor Club ride today, but Jeff said they are hopeful for Feb. 4th.  He will send an email to update the club.  Jeff will need the full name and birthdate of anyone wishing to participate.

Luther Olsen – Team Winnebagoland
Howard mentioned that there was a huge turn-out for the Luther Olsen night at Team Winnebagoland on Dec. 12th; our club was well
represented – thank you to all that attended.

Trail Report:               Hwy Markers
Howard stated state law requires a few signs to be put in near the crossing of the new Boulders trail because it crosses a state highway.  Howard has the signs ordered and the City has agreed to put them up when they come in.  The club will pay for the signs.  Grooming Contract
Howard reviewed the current contract the club has with Joe and reiterated the fact that Joe is the only one who should be doing the grooming or giving permission for anyone to groom any sections of trail.

Howard received a phone call from Travis Kastenschmidt wondering why some grooming had been done by Chris.  There was discussion on why the grooming shouldn’t have been done and also discussion on how to pay for grooming that section of un-funded trail.  Motion made by Pat to pay the normal rate as a funded trail ($50/hr); 2nd by Denny.  Motion Carried.

New Business:          Jacket Orders
Tami is making up order forms and will email to the club.

  Advertising Board for Groomer
Gary Will brought up the idea of having an advertising board like other clubs do.  Businesses pay for a spot on the board every year and the board is attached to the drag behind the groomer.  It is something for the club to think about and Joe had no objections to putting it on the drag.

Judy Hollatz
On behalf of the club, Tami passed on condolences to the Hollatz family for the recent passing of Judy.  The club has made a $25 donation to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in her memory.

Motion to adjourn meeting at 9:15 by Gary Will; 2nd by Misti.  Motion passed.  The next meeting will be February 11th at Player’s, 5:30 p.m.
